on this quarter

As we start Q1, our focus remains the same: helping customers run more reliable backups, move cleaner data, and spend less time troubleshooting pipelines and restores.

This quarter, we’re focused on:

  • Clearer documentation and improvements in version 6.3

  • Making it easier to share feedback and real-world experiences

  • Continuing small but meaningful platform refinements behind the scenes

Below is a snapshot of what’s new, what’s coming, and how you can help shape what we build next.

If you’d like to get a head start on 2026, let’s book a planning session to align on priorities and help your team make the most of the year ahead.

Holiday Notice: Sesame Software will be closed in observance of MLK Day (January 19) and Presidents’ Day (February 16). Regular support coverage will resume the following business days.

Security remains a core focus as we move through 2026. We continue to strengthen our controls, auditing, and compliance processes to ensure customer data stays protected as environments scale and requirements evolve. Our goal is simple: reliable, secure data management you don’t have to think twice about.

A New Year Thank You Gift

As we head into a new year, we want to start with a simple thank you. Many of you have shared feedback with us over time, and it plays a real role in shaping where our product goes next.

If you’ve had a positive experience with Sesame Software, a quick review on G2 is one of the most meaningful ways to support our team and help other data teams understand what it’s like to work with us.

A few things that are helpful to include:

  • The problem you were trying to solve

  • How you’re using backups, replication, or pipelines today

  • What’s been most valuable or easiest for your team

Reviews usually take just a few minutes, and we read every one.

As a thank you, we’re offering a $150 Amazon gift card.

Once your review is posted, simply email us the G2 confirmation and we’ll take care of the rest.

A Step Beyond Reviews: Referrals Matter

Some of our best customer relationships started with a simple introduction. If you know a team that’s struggling with backups, data replication, or brittle integrations, our referral program makes it easy to connect us.

How it works:

  • You introduce us to a team that could benefit

  • We handle a no-pressure, technical conversation

  • If they become a customer, we make sure you’re thanked

Referral rewards:

  • $50 when your referral books a demo

  • $500 when they become a customer

  • $750 for your second successful referral

No obligation and no selling on your end, just a warm intro when it feels right!

From Our CEO: Realistic Objectives for AI and What Readiness Actually Means

AI projects rarely fail because the models are bad. They fail much earlier—when teams skip the work of understanding their data and the business processes behind it.

In practice, AI readiness has less to do with adopting the latest tools and more to do with clarity: clear objectives, reliable data, and processes that accurately reflect how work actually gets done. Modern AI can tolerate messy data, but it still inherits the assumptions, inconsistencies, and gaps embedded in that data. When those issues aren’t addressed, AI often accelerates inefficiency instead of insight.

This is why many organizations see the greatest return during the discovery phase—before any model is deployed. Examining data quality, lineage, and cross-system consistency surfaces opportunities to improve reporting, operations, and governance right away.

At Sesame Software, we see this firsthand. Customers who invest in strong data foundations—replication they can trust, visibility across systems, and well-defined data flows—are better positioned to explore AI responsibly, without betting outcomes on hype or assumptions.
