Rick Banister, President
Rick Banister has developed application systems for thirty-five years in his roles as a product architect,
project manager, software developer, systems integrator, and database analyst.
His extensive experience in application development includes Oracle and Java programming, database design,
implementation and tuning. He is a leading expert in Database ETL, CRM implementation, Quality Assurance,
and Product Improvement processes, and the inventor of the ExtraView issue tracking product.
Mr. Banister formed Sesame Software in 1988 as a professional services organization. Over the course of the
following fifteen years, he authored a wide array of custom-built ETL systems for major corporations,
including: Cisco, Sony Pictures, Covad, Lifescan, and ebrary. During this period, he observed that all of
these projects could have been accomplished more quickly and efficiently with an ETL tool.
However, product research performed by all of these companies concluded that an efficient and cost-effective
ETL tool did not exist in the market. Thus, he developed the Relational Junction product suite,
which was developed and initially released in 2004 to meet the market demand for Enterprise integration
and information warehousing. Mr. Banister is a frequent speaker at industry conferences and
holds a Master's degree from San Diego State University.
